1. Who we are

SA Shelter Hub is operated by Gilgal Consulting Services (Pty) Ltd t/a SA Shelter Hub, South Africa. Contact: info@shelterhub.co.za.

2. What the Service is

SA Shelter Hub is a free national directory of shelters, halfway houses, rehabilitation centres and safe spaces. It is an information service only. We do not run, manage or operate any listed facility, and we do not book beds.

3. Emergencies

If you or someone else is in immediate danger, contact SAPS on 10111 or the GBV Command Centre on 0800 428 428. Do not rely on this Service in an emergency.

4. Accuracy of listings

• Listings are compiled from publicly available sources, including provincial Social Development databases, the National Shelter Movement directory, the Central Drug Authority treatment-centre list and SANCA.
• Listings may be incomplete, out of date or wrong. Bed numbers, costs, contact details and availability can change without notice.
• "Registered" and "verified" labels reflect information available to us at the time and are not a guarantee of quality, safety or suitability.
• We do not endorse any facility. Contact the facility directly and use your own judgement before relying on a listing.

5. Protected locations

For the safety of residents, some facilities (for example women's and children's safe spaces) have their addresses and contact details withheld or obscured. Please do not try to find, publish or share the location of any protected facility.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• scrape, crawl, harvest or bulk-copy the directory, or use automated tools to do so, without our written permission;
• copy, republish, sell or build a competing database from our content;
• attempt to gain unauthorised access to, disrupt or overload the Service;
• use the Service to harass, locate, stalk or harm any person or facility;
• misrepresent your identity or affiliation.

We may block access to anyone who breaks these rules.

7. Intellectual property

The SA Shelter Hub name, logo, design, text and the selection and arrangement of the directory are owned by Gilgal Consulting Services (Pty) Ltd t/a SA Shelter Hub and protected by South African copyright and other intellectual property law. © 2026 SA Shelter Hub. All rights reserved.

You may view the Service and share links to it. You may not otherwise copy or reuse our content without permission. Facility names and contact details remain the property or information of the relevant organisations.

8. Corrections and removal

If you run a listed facility, or believe a listing is wrong or puts someone at risk, email info@shelterhub.co.za. We will review requests promptly and may correct, hide or remove a listing.

9. Availability

The Service is provided free and "as is". We aim to keep it available, including offline, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.

10. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by South African law, we are not liable for any loss or harm arising from your use of, or reliance on, the Service or any listing, including loss caused by inaccurate, outdated or unavailable information or by dealings with any facility. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

11. Third-party links

The Service links to third-party sites and services (for example Google Maps, facility websites and WhatsApp). We are not responsible for their content or practices.

12. Changes

We may update these Terms. The "Last updated" date shows the current version. Continued use after a change means you accept it.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa, and the South African courts have jurisdiction.
